ABOUT LORRAINE HUDSON Lorraine has been an Artist all her life!
Ever since she can remember she created and painted including airfix models of planes, doll's house furnishings and accessories for the dolls house inhabitants. Spending hours in her bedroom Lorraine remembers creating a flat in the contours of her bedroom’s rag rug modelled on the sitcom The Liverbirds for Cindy, Pippa and Daisy dolls. Given the Sunday Paper's colour supplements to cut up, she papered her bedroom walls. This is where Lorraine believes her Love of Collage began. White cardboard smarties tubes and square packets were glued onto the outer sliding wardrobe doors before the packets were redesigned with the brown background. Meeting an Artist, and family friend who did not iron her clothes and had newspaper on her bedroom walls instead of wallpaper. Greatly influenced Lorraine's already individual personality. In her 20's Lorraine went onto study pottery, photography & upholstery, as well as Design at BTEC HND level for 2 years in the eighties. This Lead to uni study in Interior Architecture. An MS diagnosis in 1992, two years into her BA dramatically changed Lorraine's life. In Jan 2013 Lorraine joined Johnson's Island where she now creates & paints in a wonderfully supportive environment with other like minded people. "I Love my life and really everything I ever encounter as I ". Lorraine attends Richmond Adult Community College. curently where she's enjoying using oils with Alex.. Lorraine's work can be purchased during Johnsons Islands Open Studio's which usually occur twice a year in summer and winter times. Our next O. S. are in July 2017 on the 7th 8th & 9th. please come x Lorraine. I have moved to Lincoln, Lincolnshire. I now live happily on land in a quarter house in a forest amongst Crows, blue tits, Robbins. All kinds of bird's come to my garden to the bird feeder and one day I will be able to identify them. My cat has been told firmly that under no circumstances is he to bring dead or half dead creatures to our door! So far so good. |
